Sioux Falls City Council

Southeast District

Sioux Falls has grown since we made our home here in 2007 and I have enjoyed the safety of our neighborhoods, the responsiveness of our fire department, and the timeliness that our city patches potholes when asked.

Transportation is big for me.  I'd like to keep this on the front burner and accelerate construction timelines where safe to do so in the short term.  I'd also encourage a schedule that allows for smoother flow throughout the city in the long term.

I miss the sand play area where my kids spent many hours playing under the shade of mature trees with a water structure at Laurel Oaks Pool.  At the same time, the new shade structures look sharp and exciting upon arrival.  I'd support sensible, more natural play environments such as washed sand in sand boxes, pea rock, buckets, and faucets.  I've watched kids play.  Wood chips or recycled rubber shouldn't be the only options at a play space.

Experienced in using pros and cons, or risks and benefits in decision making, I plan to ask questions that get the city leaders collaborating. Let's consider more than just one solution to things as we move forward.

As Sioux Falls continues to prosper, I look forward to representing the Southeast District on City Council. That decision is in the hands of the voters.  Vote June 2!
